Thick slices of tomato toast with olive oil and flaky salt on a chipped plate

Lunch · 10 min · Serves 1

Tomato toast,
good months only.

Four ingredients, no technique, and absolutely no point attempting it in February.

Tomato toast, in the good months only

10 min · Serves 1

You need
Do this
  1. Toast the bread until it is properly dark at the corners.
  2. Rub it with the raw garlic clove if you like a little bite.
  3. Slice the tomato thick and lay it on, letting the juice soak in.
  4. Pour over more oil than feels sensible, then salt heavily.

Stand up while eating it. It never travels well.
